Wii outsells the PS3 4-to-1 in Japan, Sony execs “not psyched”
Filed under: Game Sony, we know you are trying hard, which is why I think we should burn all the worse when you wake up in sales figures like this. According to a report, the PS3s in Wii surpassed Japan 4 to 1 in February, and their games dominated the bestseller lists. What makes it seem cold, hard? 331627 consoles Nintendo moved during the month, while Sony only 89131 units at the same time. What makes it seem cold, hard? 331627 consoles Nintendo moved during the month, while Sony only 89131 units at the same time. But there is more: in January, the ratio was 3 to 1, meaning that Nintendo lead appears to be increasing as the year progresses. Still, Sony could have made it worse, the Xbox 360 only raspó a miserable 14079 Xbox 360 sales in the same time frame. |

Red Octane lets loose separate Wii Guitar Hero III controller
Filed under: GamingIt seems Wii users who wish to expand their arsenal Guitar Hero (or replace an axe after a little too much on things) will not have to wait much longer, Red Octane has been set loose to make a wireless Les Paul controller for the system. Not exactly come cheap, however, with the company from the list of drivers at $ 70 on its own website, despite Toys R Us is having the validity of the orders of $ 60 (Best Buy and others do not seem be offered now). What is more, while Red Octane only goes so far as to say "ETA March 2008," Toys R Us is giving a ship date of March 4, which seems that it should be able to landing in their hands at any time. Wii FreeLoader gives you region-free gaming without the mods
Filed under: Gamingdigg_url = ‘http://digg. com/nintendo/Wii_FreeLoader_gives_you_region_free_gaming_without_the_mods’; This one has been in the works for a while, but it looks like you can finally pick up your very own region-free enabler for the Wii for $19. 99. Wii FreeLoader allows you to play any GameCube or Wii game from any region on your Wii. You just stick the FreeLoader disc into the console, let it spin up, eject the disc and stick in your title of choice — like Super Smash Bros. Brawl, for instance, or some cooking-related title. Since there’s no hardware modding required, this one theoretically won’t void your warranty, but who’s to say how Nintendo will treat you if you somehow break your Wii with it, and there’s always the fear that Nintendo will hit your Wii with a mandatory software update that breaks FreeLoader, so proceed with caution. |

Mario Kart Wii Supports 8 Players
Mario Kart multiplayer has always been a gaming high for anyone who has tried it - you will hardly find it boring, since the game always favors the person(s) behind the leader, giving them superior weapons as well as power ups while all the race leader can do is hope to keep projectiles from hitting his rear with a green shell or banana skin. Mario Kart Wii will offer multiplayer gaming as well, this time supporting up to 8 players simultaneously. |

Linux Runs On Wii
The people at Game Cube Linux claim to have developed a proof of concept version of Linux that runs on the Nintendo Wii in native mode, exploiting the quirk known as the Twilight Hack which allows external software to be loaded without having to perform specialized hardware modifications. This hack will trick the system into loading code from an SD memory card, and hence we have Linux on the Wii. This hack will trick the system into loading code from an SD memory card, and hence we have Linux on the Wii. Hopefully Nintendo opens up its platform to third party developers in order to be on par with Sony’s PS3 and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 where third party development is concerned. WiiMote Curtain Controller Project is Like Resident Evil: Drapes [Wii]
Standing up and manually closing curtains is for old people and luddites. What we roll with is of the mechanical variety, preferably hooked up to something like a WiiMote to give it that extra bit of nerdiness. This WiiMote curtain project is exactly what we mean. Sure, it’s not 1:1 arm to curtain movement, but that’s exactly the point of not wanting to close the curtain with your arm, manually. |

Wii sees homebrew hackery aplenty, official update
Filed under: GamingIt only been a short time since we saw the first successful attempts Wii home, but now we hope that things have busted wide open, with hacks apparently turning left and right until this day. Above all, people project GameCube Linux just let loose a proof of concept Linux mini-distro "which makes use of the now infamous Twilight Princess cut Wii turn in a small (and not very far useful) Linux box. In related news, Nintendo also just pushed out an update to the official Wii OS (version 3. 2), but contrary to what was suggested by the calendar, which apparently does nothing to prevent you from getting your home setting. Wii Tetris: homebrew edition
Filed under: Gaming unpayable If that version of Pong saw for the Wii was not quite do it for you, you will be happy to know that homebrewer Christian Auby (aka DesktopMan) just hit the next stage in the evolution: Tetris. That's right, you can now get a fully operational version of the puzzle running on the Wii, thanks to the hand that Twilight Princess hack, and what is probably a huge amount of work in the Auby. The GameCube game loads from the slot for memory cards (SD via an adapter) Twilight Princess, but after the hack has participated can jump back to the loader to pull something new from a card, which must do experience a little easier. Check the video after the break to see how everything works. [Thanks, Craig] More Wii Tetris: homemade Edition Read | Permalink | Mail | Comments. |

Filed under: Cellphones, Gamingdigg_url = 'http://digg. Es / apple / iPhone_Wii_guests_on_stage_at_this_year_s_Oscars' We feel the need to continue telling the people that the iPhone and Wii are totally like going to be enormous, but perhaps they finally we now believe Jon Stewart trotted out both on stage during Academy Awards this year. Oh, and perhaps now would be a good time to remind everyone that the vote is still open in 2007 upgradeable Awards. |
