Its A Me, A Mario Wii Case Mod!

Check out this mod Wii Should definitely be sent over fans of Mario Luna (although it has already crossed the great breadth and duration in Super Mario Galaxy). It seemed good enough for her, and on the other side is the case of a pipe that doubles as a charger remote Wii.

Provider strangeperipherals Thanko may actually have done a good non-motorized gadget USB-foot TV that allows you to increase your TV to eye level for better games Wii. Great idea, but Thanko must employ new guys in the "name that gadget office: this is called the" Electric Up and Down Big TV Stand. "Now, I do not own a Wii, but I play games EyeToy Time to time, and I can totally see the advantages offered by this gizmo.

The 3D Mario Wii Casemod [Gaming]

The Wii is great and all, but I think that just slips too easily into my home theater cabinet. I want something more awkwardly shape and color garishly, dammit! When Nintendo hear my requests? I have to go to modders to get what I want, in particular, this hand-painted with a 3D Mario Wii mod popping out of the face. A bit much? Perhaps, but we can not hate this kind of fanboyism constructive.

A Real Wii Crossbow

Link's Ballesta training is fun, but the Wii Zapper is not exactly a crossbow. So here is a new driver that is not a crossbow! And not just any crossbow, which has a laser sight! Those bublins and skulltulas hide better because this thing can not miss! And to prove that it is a dangerous weapon, manufacturers have put the arrow pingpongball not to shoot someone outside of the eye.

Wii Crossbow Has Laser Sight, Tip Covered by Ping Pong Ball [Peripherals]

We have seen our fare share of Wii peripherals, but the Wii Crossbow actually looks like it could be used by police officials to take down the bad guys. Sure, the ping pong ball tip doesn’t look too menacing, but we’re sure there’s a razor sharp arrow underneath. If you’re worried aiming is going to be an issue, fret not. A laser sight is included to make sure you beat all your current scores in Link’s Crossbow Training.

Priced at $28, the Wii Crossbow is priced on the steep side, but you can always take it in the garden, load it up with Nerf darts and pelt the bajeezus out of next door’s cat. Alternatively, you could use it to save some Christian aid officials that unwittingly have happened upon difficult times in war-torn Burma.

Gepetto Robot: Good at Paintball, Bad at Wii [Robots]

While we’re impressed by the technology behind military robots, it can be depressing when you realize that they’re actually being produced to maim and kill. This paintball robot “Gepetto” gets rid of such guilt. And, as you’ll see this video, it’s a lot funnier when a robot turns on its master to cause moderate levels of pain rather than death. Hit the video at 1:15 to watch a grown man curl up like a sissy as his children laugh in the background.

It’s a technical piece, but you can skip to 4:20 for the demonstration. You’ll notice that the “fully trained” Gepetto is still only responding with about 20% accuracy. . . so it looks like a dream of Wiimote steering with precision aim is just a dream. All in all, it’s a neat ongoing robot project. Hit the link for a full list of technical details and updates.

Video of Wiimote Turning Into TV Remote [Nintendo]

By the power of Grayskull Wii and the TV Guide Channel, I will use my Mighty Wiimote to mount the TV channels and control the TV volume, and from now on, you will be called. . . TWiimote! Finally, the circle is complete. [Nintendo Wii Fanboy].

Using two candles as a Wii Sensor Bar replacementUsing two candles as a Wii Sensor Bar replacement
Quick note: Yes, this is the ORIGINAL Sensor Bar candle video. After this was posted, many others followed suit, including Joystiq.com. IGN.com even made several references to it in their articles an blogs, and someone referenced it in Wikipedia.

Many have heard that the Wii’s Sensor Bar does not really sense anything at all but that the remote does all the detection sort of like a monochrome digital camera. What many do not realize is that the Sensor Bar is just two sets of IR LEDs that emit just enough light to be detected by the remote for triangulation.

Knowing this, I decided to do an experiment. I turned out all the lights in my living room and lit two candles about three feet apart beneath my projector screen, seeing as they emit several wavelengths of light, both visible and beyond. Surprisingly it worked atleast as well as Sensor Bar when directly in front of the screen (but worse far to the left or right) because of the combination of increased IR light output and increased distance. Any two IR sources will potentially work in this manner (including two TV/DVD remotes with any buttons held).

The video was recorded on a Cingular 8125 set to “cool” (bluescale) to capture enough light. At the beginning of the video, I hold up the pack-in sensor bar to show that it is not plugged into the Wii (since it’s tough to tell in the very low light of the room). I then grab the Wii Remote and navigate the menus to pull up Wii Sports.
