Video of Wiimote Turning Into TV Remote [Nintendo]

By the power of Grayskull Wii and the TV Guide Channel, I will use my Mighty Wiimote to mount the TV channels and control the TV volume, and from now on, you will be called. . . TWiimote! Finally, the circle is complete. [Nintendo Wii Fanboy].

Using two candles as a Wii Sensor Bar replacementUsing two candles as a Wii Sensor Bar replacement
Quick note: Yes, this is the ORIGINAL Sensor Bar candle video. After this was posted, many others followed suit, including Joystiq.com. IGN.com even made several references to it in their articles an blogs, and someone referenced it in Wikipedia.

Many have heard that the Wii’s Sensor Bar does not really sense anything at all but that the remote does all the detection sort of like a monochrome digital camera. What many do not realize is that the Sensor Bar is just two sets of IR LEDs that emit just enough light to be detected by the remote for triangulation.

Knowing this, I decided to do an experiment. I turned out all the lights in my living room and lit two candles about three feet apart beneath my projector screen, seeing as they emit several wavelengths of light, both visible and beyond. Surprisingly it worked atleast as well as Sensor Bar when directly in front of the screen (but worse far to the left or right) because of the combination of increased IR light output and increased distance. Any two IR sources will potentially work in this manner (including two TV/DVD remotes with any buttons held).

The video was recorded on a Cingular 8125 set to “cool” (bluescale) to capture enough light. At the beginning of the video, I hold up the pack-in sensor bar to show that it is not plugged into the Wii (since it’s tough to tell in the very low light of the room). I then grab the Wii Remote and navigate the menus to pull up Wii Sports.

Metallic video watch has OLED display

Video watches seem to be increasingly common these days, and here we have another one of ThinkGeek. It comes with a shiny exterior for the blind all, retailing at $ 79. 99 a pop - a $ 20 discount on its original price. With a full color screen displays this watch video and images very well with 128 × 128 pixel resolution. The OLED display is crisp and bright, and the watch itself is surprisingly well proportions (not thick and bulky).

Battery is charged through USB and sport to 7 hours playing time (4 hours of video playback). Available with 2 GB of storage capacity. Cool Gift Idea: Digital Picture Frames, see our comments. Smart Video Goggle System

Researchers from the University of Tokyo have successfully developed a smart video goggle system which is capable of recording just about everything the wearer looks at, assigning names to objects in the video in order to create a searchable database of the recorded footage. Meant to be used as a high-tech memory aid, these “Cyber Goggles”, as they’re known, could eventually eliminate those awkward moments when you ask yourself, “Where did I place those house keys of mine?”.

A computer worn on the user’s back will record whatever footage that comes through the attached compact camera, using an ultrahigh-speed image recognition processing software to analyze, name and file the objects that appear in the video. Relevant keywords will be added for a smarter search later. Hopefully the missus won’t review my day’s recording at the beach, where bikinis were the order of the day.

Apple TV vs. Vudu vs. Xbox 360: Video Download Battlemodo [Battlemodo]

If you’ve been wondering how to compare the video-download options of Apple TV, Vudu and the Xbox 360, I think today is your lucky day. A few weeks back, I wrote up a piece on Vudu’s high-definition video falling short of my expectations. Today I bring you a more thorough report of the three most compelling set-top boxes and their video-download capabilities.

Meanwhile, Apple TV is cheapest and lives up to its name with the best access to actual TV programming—though NBC is still painfully absent. How about helping me make the call here?Gawker Media polls require Javascript; if you’re viewing this in an RSS reader, click through to view in your Javascript-enabled web browser. Video Hands on With the 8.9-inch Asus Eee PC 900 [Laptops]

Just days after becoming official, JKK Mobile has unveiled a short video hands on with the Asus Eee PC 900. It is not definitive by any means, although they were generally impressed. Specifically, they were happy with the larger size and increased resolution (1024 x 600) on the 8. 9-inch screen. And the 1GB ram, 1. 3 megapixel camera and 8GB SSD (up to 12GB) is definitely an improvement over the original.

Video Game Stinkers DOT Com: Knight Rider (NES)Video Game Stinkers DOT Com: Knight Rider (NES)
As requested from Jayn1.

Take Rad Racer, Take Road Blasters, Mix it together, and you got Knight Rider.

Well, This game sucks, because the steering is horrible, not to mention the controls.

Gas? Up! Not A, Not B, it’s the up button. Man, I’ve played other racers and many other racers used one of the action buttons instead of the D-pad. Well, it would have been worse had they used the SELECT button as the gas.

Worst of all, it drives more like a truck than a car, as you HARDLY merge when the road is straight, making dodging the bullets a pain in the arse.

Also, I didn’t make it to the second level, but it’s actually easier, because the enemy attacks are slower, as they throw granades at you.

If you want to play a racing game, play Rad Racer. It has so much better control and gameplay than this.

iPod Video Projector: Good for a Starry Night, Not Your Home Theater [Gadgets]

This projector video iPod box reminds me of my nonexistent Boy Scout days. There's no welding, wire or any real "hax," only a cardboard box of mirrors and lenses. Since it is only reflecting off the iPod screen real, as you can imagine that seems donkey total, but if you are camping out, which could have a beloved bootleggy, roughing what kind of quality to it.

Fujitsu has a spanking new video decoder IC known as MB86H60, and this time it has a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080 with full compatibility with the MPEG-2 standard and H. 264/AVC encoding formats. The MB86H60 has been slated to be used in television sets and set-top-boxes (STBs), capable of supporting HDTV broadcasting in Europe, in addition to seeking to be integrated into portable receivers.

Samples will start from the end of May this year onwards, retailing from $ 48 to pop after tax. It seems that the Europeans are going to be a lot of luck this time. Source: Tech-On! YAEV = yet another emo video! this one’s a bit different; I love emo, and i know this song is anti, but i think it’s so hilarious, i just HAD to make a video with it. enjoy!

To EVERYONE: When doing this movie, I searched for images with the keyword “emo”, thus all boys or girls in this movie have some (whether real or not) connection with them. So please don’t rant about that you’re boyfriend is in this movie and that he’s not emo, I don’t care - he shouldn’t had put up a picture of himself on a page that had something to do with emos. By the way - how many times must I say it - EMO’s ARE HOT and do NOT deserve to be treated as negatively as society does at the moment - start loving them, they don’t cut themself, that’s the biggest mistake everyone commits when thinking so. This movie was made as something fun - NOT AS AN INSULT TO them - once again, I love them!

PS. I myself am not emo, just so you know; I just thought the idea was worth making a movie of. DS.

Another note: I REMOVE ALL OFFENSIVE OR STUPID COMMENTS. End of story!

I love you all!
