This RC car is a laptop controlled drifter project created by Chris over at PyroElectro. The aim of the project was to make an ordinary RC car have the ability to be controlled by a laptop. By using the laptop and a small box attached to a COM port, full control of the car is made possible and of course, automated control is also available too. Filed under: LaptopsIt’s already extended Penryn updates to its Precision M6300 laptop and a couple of Inspirons, but Dell’s unsurprisingly not done yet, and it’s now doled out similar upgrades to its Precision M2300 and M4300 models. Those are each now available with Penryn processors ranging from 2. 1GHz to 2. 6GHz, and for the same price as the earlier Merom processors, although Dell warns that opting for Penryn on the M2300 may delay your ship date. Otherwise, you can load ‘em up with a max 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB SSD drives, but you’ll have to make do with an NVIDIA Quadro FX 360M for graphics. Take a look at this portable solar energy concept which is based 100% in the direct sun to keep it running. I do not know about this idea - laptops are known for their high energy consumption, and that may not last too long without being connected to a power supply. After all, you do not want to work under the suffocating sun, right? The batteries are recharged within a large solar panel, which is connected to the computer, where the characteristics of the notebook includes GPS satellite connection, Internet access. I wonder how many hours of sunlight are needed to load the laptop. Hopefully solar panel as technology advances, which will become more efficient and that idea will become a reality.
