Good thing the big M did not decide its full weight behind the inclusion of Toshiba HD DVD as a drive within the Xbox 360 in the first place, eh? Well, at least, you can buy an Xbox 360 HD DVD to the floor now - watch out for the firesales to be announced after this movement.

For those who have already picked up the HD DVD and not bother - Microsoft will continue to be the guarantee of his honor, but I wonder how much we are going to see action now ignored by the unit. Permalink | Commentary | Uberbargain | Uberphones.

Microsoft drops Xbox 360 HD DVD drive

It seems that is the end of the road for HD DVD even in the game, since Microsoft has decided to drop the Xbox 360 HD DVD. For those who have picked up this peripheral, do not worry too much about their security as Microsoft will continue to offer support to the same guarantee. I do not think that a security is really necessary in this case because it anyway hardly use in HD DVD no longer with new movies to be released in the foreseeable future.

DeepFish - Microsoft’s Mobile Browser

Microsoft has unveiled their new mobile browser know as DeepFish. DeepFish’s goal is to bring surfing on a mobile phone close to surfing the Net on a PC. Now we know that Apple’s iPhone will have this function. It uses the Safari web browser native to Macs. If you have ever connected to the Internet and tried visiting sites you know how ugly it can be. You mostly see text links, with no pictures at all.

Now we know that Apple’s iPhone will have this function. It uses the Safari web browser native to Macs. If you have ever connected to the Internet and tried visiting sites you know how ugly it can be. You mostly see text links, with no pictures at all. For that reason, most people will only surf the Net to access important information. Not only that but to include all the images and frills and load them on a cell phone takes way too much time.

Microsoft unveils tabletop ‘Milan’ computerMicrosoft unveils tabletop ‘Milan’ computer
Microsoft Corp. has chosen what it sees as the next generation in PC designs — a computer the size and shape of a coffee table with a flat, touch-screen display — as the third major product it has designed and is branding for the consumer electronics market.

The company today revealed its 5-year-old “Milan” project, a computer that uses wireless autosync and touch-screen technology to allow users and devices to interact with files and applications using a tabletop screen. The company designed and is branding the computer, as it did with consumer electronics products such as the Xbox game console and the Zune MP3 player.

To accompany Milan, Microsoft renamed a team within its Entertainment and Devices Division called New Consumer Products as “Surface Computing.” General Manager Pete Thompson leads the group, which has worked quietly in new projects to give computers and other devices more human interfaces.
