Microsoft Warns Home Server Users Not to Write to Server or Use Media Managers [Microsoft]

Recognizing the "data corruption bug" that has been raging since Windows servers Home Christmas, Microsoft warned users to NOT: • "Using applications directly to edit or modify files stored on Windows Server Home" • "Using media management software, such as Windows Media Player, to import files to the House of Windows Server" • "redirect applications to access files stored in shared folders" Instead , users are instructed to move files to and from the server only by hand, using W.

Once the patch has passed internal quality bars, external participants will be asked to help fix the test. Our current plan is to release the beta test for a solution in the coming months, with a final version which is currently estimated for June 2008. Some of you probably want to get on board with the beta test. Meanwhile, we are going to pay attention to all those warnings.

Microsoft Research’s MySong Makes Musical Accompaniment For Your Singing [Mysong]

Before MySong of Microsoft Research, people without musical talent had to resort to consume music and not bother the rest of us with their styles of fans. No longer. All you have to do is be able to sing a short tune (something you can always sing in key) and MySong this software are dynamically generated accompaniment of a piano for you. As can be seen in the video, which actually sounds pretty good, and you can adjust the sliders for the most part piano happy, sad, jazzier, or not.

As can be seen in the video, which actually sounds pretty good, and you can adjust the sliders for the most part piano happy, sad, jazzier, or not so jazzy. The bad news is that this is only a draft of Microsoft Research, and not a package you can buy. Maybe in a few years? [IStartedSomething through Geekologie through Dvice].

Rumor: Microsoft Making 60GB Hard Drives Standard on Xbox 360s [Rumor]

The comments of confidence said that I have a "rock solid source" says that Microsoft will dump the standard 20GB hard drive that now included in the Xbox 360 Premium (which has doubled since only Xbox 360) for the 60GB unit as soon Q2 of this year. This rumor makes sense if Microsoft on the planning unit blows heavy applications such as streaming movies or IPTV, as a HD movie can take up a huge percentage of those small 20GB hard as it is now.

This rumor makes sense if Microsoft on the planning unit blows heavy applications such as streaming movies or IPTV, as a HD movie can take up a huge percentage of those small 20GB hard as it is now. Of course, all this is just a rumor, and if you really want a larger hard drive on your 360, you can always go out and buy one of its 120 units.

Apple Campus vs. Microsoft Campus: One Visitor’s UI Review [Apple Vs Microsoft]

I was fortunate to be able to visit the two Redmond campus of Microsoft and Apple in Cupertino offices in the same week. Therefore, I thought it had a little to make the comparison as to how a visitor sees the experiences and the respective headquarters. Both centers have the technology worker generic looking buildings with large mirrors crystal faces and gray / beige walls.

Now this may come as a bit of unfair attacks, but this is just one person's experience. It is not intended to be nothing more than that. If you are going to draw conclusions, look at photos and maps of Redmond and Cupertino and come up with your own. UPDATE: Apple campus extends beyond the campus infinite loop, and is expanding, so its not going to be that easy to get around in the future.

Microsoft Goes Spherical With Surface

Word said that Microsoft has succeeded improvises an area of the computer enabled comes with a spherical screen. This is a rather interesting development because it means that we can kiss goodbye to ugly but traditional square and rectangular designs of yesteryear. One practical application that rolls off my head? Having a fully interactive world that an entire geography certainly a lot more fun to learn in school.

Microsoft StartKey Flash Drive

Microsoft is currently working on his new StartKey portable flash drive that will see action at the end of this year, stockpiling of essential information as a profile of a Windows user, applications and settings, making it portable wherever he / she goes. Sounds like SanDisk U3 defunct, eh? This StartKey may even go so far as to lead to an entire installation boot, which makes portable computing more than ever.

StartKey technology is not limited to USB flash drives as Microsoft wants to make it compatible with the different types of flash memory such as SD. I guess the StartKey can only work with Windows-based PCs that require certain patches installed before it can work, and posed a security problem for businesses? Thanks to Tom's Hardware image.

Yahoo Flees Microsoft, Runs to Time Warner’s AOL? [Software]

Microsoft hating is a national pastime, Yahoo, but the desire to avoid a shot from Redmond seems to have been driven to seek a friendly relationship with Time Warner. Yes, there are some geniuses who really concocting "an agreement that will fold of AOL Time Warner in the Internet unit of Yahoo." Sorry, but history has shown that working with Time Warner things on the Internet is the equivalent of the companies trying to conquer Russia in the winter? The joke is actually relieved when tha.

By now you have heard a little about Microsoft "surface" of multiple sensors table, and now is claiming ZDNet that the company has been showing an area as a version of the technology throughout its campus. We know that Microsoft is pushing to get this technology in homes sooner rather than later, but a spherical device does not appear to be that all practices (unless you are a fortune teller or something).
