In reviewing the Airbook, I realized that my catch was almost nothing on the cross, as a magazine, which resembled in size. Now Stephen Levy of Newsweek, one of the four major reviewers, has lost her. And the theory that there could be thrown out with a stack of the stack of old newspapers stacked. I see this happening to many owners of air.

Low-end MacBooks bested by their predecessors

If you recently purchased a new low-end MacBook not advise reading this, because you can alter slightly. I used to be a big fan of the Mac (and have been gradually drifting back that direction), so I remember when the G5 and went around the world poses a great smell about the lack of L3 cache. While the new chips still surpassed his predecessors, the absence of L3 cache still gave the G4s an advantage in certain circumstances.

If you are looking to achieve greater MacBook end, do not worry. The clock speeds faster than the other models compensates for the fact that fewer cache. Plug-’n'-Play USB Virus Makes MacBooks Fall to Pieces [Gadgets Virus]

newVideoPlayer(”newtonvirus_giz. flv”, 475, 286,”");Behold, a video of the Newton Virus. Back in 2005, Troika, the British-based art collective that was behind the Heathrow Terminal 5 sculpture that some of you recently described as a “disco turd,” created a virus for Macs, called Newton. It came on a little USB key that looked like a cross between a malevolent Apple and Pac Man and was aimed at, well, people like you or I, who spend far too much time fiddling around on their computers.

MacBook Air Selling Like Extremely Expensive Hotcakes? [Apple]

Apparently, the MacBook Air is selling well enough to not be available at many stores and require 5-7 days of waiting for orders online. Despite the high price, the super-thin notebook is often the day of the sale of a shipment arrives at an Apple Store, according to research conducted by Ars Technica. Of course, without knowing how many Airs MacBook Apple is manufacturing, this could just as easily be a case of the apple not make too many in the first place, which makes the demand seems bigger than it really is.

Axiotron ModBook Review (Verdict: A Touchscreen MacBook Done Right) [Modbook Review]

It was exactly one year from the time Axiotron first debuted in its touchscreen MacBook Macworld 2007 at the same time that won the first-in the hands of him at Macworld 2008, and that year of development time seems that the company has done some good. Not only is this ModBook the touchscreen Apple Mac fans have been looking, which has all the ingredients of a MacBook, which means it is not a low-power, stripped down, gimped version (MacBook Air) that sacrifices performance of the tablet pen sensitivity.

People who are in the market for a ModBook are people who want to draw and make art with a laptop, but have another computer for normal navigation, e-mail and the Internet. If you are one of these people, ModBook a purchase is final. For others who just want a MacBook touchscreen which can make art sometimes, but are based on a keyboard most of the time and want a regular laptop in most cases, is not quite right ModBook , and suggest that instead standard Wacom tablet.

Carbon Fiber Macbook Air, A World of No [Apple]

While generally like to see new gadgets receive alloy skins, this mod carbon fibre added to the back of a Macbook Air is sensitive-put-fugly. The choice is carbon fibre which is lighter than aluminum, although installed in thickness, is a bit too flimsier. But perhaps this is just gruón. Does anyone really think this is okay? [DO].

How would you change Apple’s Penryn-based MacBook Pro?

Filed under: Features, Notebooks While the whole world and his second cousin third had removed something to say about Apple ultra-sexy, ultra-hampered MacBook air, we have a sneaking suspicion that previously people anxious about the issues of the week MacBook Pro updates equally vocal. For whatever reason, Cupertino faithful have linked February 26 on your calendar, and while the addition of one or two Penryn is almost a given, the dreamers in the crowd had much higher hopes for that fateful Tuesday.

An option for an SSD? And the built-in Blu-ray drive? Are Integrated HDMI make things more attractive? Or is it a top-down redesign case the only thing to stop abusing his credit card in the name of Steve Jobs? I mean, we know that people are full of good ideas, so let's hear 'em, do you? Rumor: Apple Wants Sony Blu-ray Drives for MacBook Pros [Rumor]

AppleInsider says Apple is “actively” poking Sony (as opposed to other BR manufacturers) for slot-loading Blu-ray drives for MacBook Pros—Apple supposedly even wanted to offer BR SuperDrives with the new Penryn-powered machines, but “quality issues” meant Sony could only deliver combo drives. Apple said shno thanks for now. Reasonably, summer wouldn’t be a bad time to expect them to come through, especially with the even more efficient Montevina chipset to offset Blu-ray’s battery-killing .

But, Apple’s official support for Blu-ray has been completely non-existent despite its exceedingly long rumor half-life. On the other hand, Blu-ray’s victory logically means we’ll see them populating more computers in (sorta) short order, now that the risk of shipping machines with $300 drink holders is gone.
