Lionsgate is in the midst of drawing up an agreement with the apple that will be the last film studio to offer digital copies on iTunes select DVD and Blu-ray titles. To get a piece of the action will have to redeem the copies using a code that comes packaged with the title. So it is a simple matter of connecting the code in iTunes and download. |

A user at Niketalk forums posted up these images of an iPod nano that went up in smoke this morning. The forum user, MJair was awoken at 2AM by the fire alarm going off. On a quick panicked inspection of the room, an “orange glow” near his PS3 was seen. That orange glow was nothing less than a fire, approximately a foot wide in length, which was said to be rapidly spreading. Checkout more images of the nano wreckage below. galleryPost(’nanwrgi’, 3, ”);Luckily, neither MJair or his PS3 were harmed, but the source of the fire seems to have been his first gen iPod nano. Unfortunately, the nano was not as robust as the iPhone that took on a semi, meaning its thin, MP3 playing days are now truly up. Unless we want to go the way of the nano, we really should replace the batteries in our own fire alarm. |

There is a new Japanese remote control that allows users to bat an eyelid in order to control the iPod, thanks to sensors connected to glasses/headphones known as the KomeKami Switch, or Temple Switch in English. These infrared sensors will generate an electric signal which will then talk to the iPod. If you wink strongly for one second with one eye, the iPod will go back one track, while doing the same with the other eye will skip the current track to the next. Closing both eyes will pause/play the iPod. According to the research team who developed this, the system works perfectly fine even if the user eats, talks, walks and runs as it is smart enough to discard accidental blinks. A new iPod controller developed in Japan allows you to control your music via your eyes, as it uses a camera clipped to glasses or a pair of headphones to read how you’re blinking. No, it won’t skip tracks every few seconds whenever you blink, as you need to be pretty deliberate to get it to work: “Wink strongly for one second with one eye to rewind, use the other to skip to the next song, or close both eyes to pause and play. ” While this might be a great solution for people who don’t have full use of their arms, I can’t see this becoming all that popular a solution. I mean, are you so lazy that you’d rather strap a camera to your head rather than reach into your iPod and pull it out to change the tracks? This projector video iPod box reminds me of my nonexistent Boy Scout days. There's no welding, wire or any real "hax," only a cardboard box of mirrors and lenses. Since it is only reflecting off the iPod screen real, as you can imagine that seems donkey total, but if you are camping out, which could have a beloved bootleggy, roughing what kind of quality to it. |
