New Camera Can Tell Exactly What’s In Your Pockets From 80 Feet Away [Privacy]

A British company called ThruVision has developed a camera that can detect objects such as firearms, drugs and explosives under the clothing of the people, without which, for better or worse, being able to see their genitals. It is a lot of promise for places like checkpoint airport security, but it is to open a huge can of worms hate to privacy elsewhere. The camera is called the T5000, and sees objects based on Terahertz, or T-rays, which are emitted.

It is all very well, but with the camera work of more than 80 feet away you have to wonder how long it would be before the city began installing cameras on the street and walk around the detention of any person with drugs in their pockets. Where is the line drawn privacy? What make people safer, or simply make people feel that we are living in a totalitarian police state? It's difficult.

Well, I took mrs. M’s web cam to mod it to be a night cam so that she could keep an eye on kids in the dark room. Well… After getting it to work, I have decided not to give it back for her to put up, because it sees through clothes. This video is shot with the camera. Its a good demo of that stuff…

Most bloggers were too young to remember that the early night vision camcorders were so sensitive they could see through clothing. This was a History Channel segment demonstrating an early XRay camera.

Michael Shanks on Highlander and Jokingly Looks for New WifeMichael Shanks on Highlander and Jokingly Looks for New Wife
Video taken at Dragon*Con 2007 on the second day (Mega Panel 1), Saturday, Sept. 1st.

Michael Shanks discusses his time working with Adrian Paul on an episode of the Highlander. He ends his answer with the fact that Adrian’s example encouraged him to do that with his own guest stars during the filming of Stargate SG-1. Lexa Doig pops in with “Except for me, apparently.”

Michael Shanks: “I married you; haven’t I done enough?”

Lexa removes her ring and places it on the table before him, and Michael stands up, pointing at the crowd, as if looking for someone to give the ring to, since Lexa doesn’t want it.

(Sorry for the camera drop here, but I wanted to see it happening live, no through the viewfinder!)

Lexa is laughing uproariously, and Michael eventually sits down and puts the ring back on her finger.

Christopher Judge: “Lexa, now that the rings off, baby…I’ve got some (mumbled words)…fudge and some strawberries.” (Everyone’s laughing at this point, because Chris had earlier answered a “What would you serve for dinner guests” question with “Fudge, Strawberries, Whipped Cream and Jellow. Clothing optional,” then he paused, “No, clothing not allowed.”)

Paul McGillion starts to woo Lexa as well, saying in his sexy brogue: “I think you’re fantastic. Very sexy.”

Then Marcia, the panel moderator, askes Vanessa Angel about her To’kra character’s attraction to Daniel Jackson.

Nekketsu Kakutou DensetsuNekketsu Kakutou Densetsu

Okay, well, I decided to look up some Kunio-Kun games. For those of you unaware, these are the gems such as River City Ransom, Crash ‘n the Boys, and Nintendo World Cup - all great NES games. However, there were a lot of withheld Kunio-Kun games as well, including sequels to Nintendo World Cup and Crash ‘n the Boys. There was even a basketball game using three baskets!

Anyways, pictured here is one of the games I liked - a brawler called Nekketsu Kakutou Densetsu. I created a character and took him through Story Mode, got his levels up, and then I copied down the password (which was in hiragana) and went to the free-for-all mode.

For reference, my character (not sure of the name) is the one wearing the judo clothing, the headband, and he can’t stop looking at the camera. My opponents are Kunio, Riki, and a third opponent I’ll call Mike. If you can’t recognize it, Kunio wears short shorts and a muscle shirt, Riki wears everyday clothing, and Mike wears no shirt and black pants - sort of like Liu Kang.

Anyways, this is an unedited series of free-for-all fighting between the four of us. I managed to fit six fights into this video but I didn’t edit them at all. I might make more fights between other characters.

Also, sorry people who wanted to see Kunio or Riki win. I might do storyline fights soon, maybe.

(and if someone could translate the names of my character and “Mike” that would be nice…)

Bonnie Beecher - Come wander with meBonnie Beecher - Come wander with me
“Come Wander with Me” is an episode of the American television anthology series The Twilight Zone.

The Rock-A-Billy Kid, Floyd Burney, arrives at a small town in search of a new song. He is directed to a dilapidated shop in the woods run by a reclusive old man. After his offer of money in exchange for an original song is rebuffed, Floyd wanders off through the woods, not seeing a nearby tombstone inscribed with his name.

Next to a lake, he encounters a pretty but mysterious woman, Mary Rachael, who reluctantly plays a song for him about two lovers who meet in the woods and are torn apart by tragedy. Floyd offers to buy the song rights from her, but she claims it isn’t for sale. As he tries to seduce her, a jealous young man named Billy Rayford shows up and attacks Floyd, who defends himself, killing Rayford.

Mary Rachael’s song reflects the event, and foreshadows a future attack. As Floyd runs off, he looks back and sees that Mary Rachael’s clothes have changed; she is now dressed in black, with a black shawl, mourning.

Soon, Billy Rayford’s brothers arrive to chase after Floyd. As he prepares to flee, Mary Rachael begs him to stay, hoping things will be different this time. She implies that these same events have occurred before. Ignoring her, he runs away and finds himself back at the shop in the woods. The old man declines to help him hide, and in his anger, Floyd kills the old man, then hides among the old musical instruments in the shop.

Billy Rayford’s three brothers arrive at the shop, see the old man’s body, and when Floyd bumps a music box, the brothers close in on him. The camera returns to the image of the tombstone in the first scene. Rod Serling warns that, “In the Twilight Zone, some things are not for sale.”

The ‘Come Wander With Me’ song was composed by Jeff Alexander and sung by Bonnie Beecher herself.

Vintage Flash Camera Clock

Camera Flash Vintage Clock must be a great gift for Dad, on the assumption that progress has been made either on the age and paid great attention to the paparazzi as early as the 1950's. With retro products doing quite well lately, makes perfect sense for this harvest flash of the camera becomes a watch, but I am not too sure 165 dollars if the price is justified. I guess they really can not be too much of a price rise when it comes to the nostalgic factor, but still, if you can find one of these in your attic and cel.

N-Gage to Incorporate GPS and Cellphone Camera Into Games? [Cellphones]

According NokNok a meeting with Will Shen, N-Gage's head of production in North America, revealed that Nokia intends to use GPS and mobile camera as a useful feature in games. In fact, Shen noted that all the functionality of a phone may possess could be used to make a game more interactive. For example, the user can ask to take pictures that would be analysed by the relevant game using "smart techniques," then "feed" the images to a character in the game.

Shen also noted that GPS functionality could be used for location-based games, but stressed that they want to make sure that it does not extend the line between innovation of tricks. Obviously, we will have to wait and see if we can remove any of this take-off, but at least Nokia fans should be very excited about the potential that the new N-Gage platform brings to the table.

Covert Bodyworn Button Camera with Portable Video Recorder

The body worn camera kit consists of a MPEG video recorder unit and a tiny pinhole camera where the lens looks like a normal black button. The idea of the unit is that you conceal the camera about your person or hidden in a bag for covert filming. Since the camera lens is hidden in the button, you’re able to place the camera where it has a greater field of view without attracting attention.

In this review, I’ll highlight the best features of both the recorder unit and the camera. (more…) Copyright © 2008 Spy Review. This Feed is for personal non-commercial use only.
