Blink-Controlled iPod Solves Problems Nobody Has [Apple]

A new iPod controller developed in Japan allows you to control your music via your eyes, as it uses a camera clipped to glasses or a pair of headphones to read how you’re blinking. No, it won’t skip tracks every few seconds whenever you blink, as you need to be pretty deliberate to get it to work: “Wink strongly for one second with one eye to rewind, use the other to skip to the next song, or close both eyes to pause and play.

” While this might be a great solution for people who don’t have full use of their arms, I can’t see this becoming all that popular a solution. I mean, are you so lazy that you’d rather strap a camera to your head rather than reach into your iPod and pull it out to change the tracks? Nice proof of concept, Japan, but I think I’ll pass on this one. [Reuters].

MacBook Air Selling Like Extremely Expensive Hotcakes? [Apple]

Apparently, the MacBook Air is selling well enough to not be available at many stores and require 5-7 days of waiting for orders online. Despite the high price, the super-thin notebook is often the day of the sale of a shipment arrives at an Apple Store, according to research conducted by Ars Technica. Of course, without knowing how many Airs MacBook Apple is manufacturing, this could just as easily be a case of the apple not make too many in the first place, which makes the demand seems bigger than it really is.

Rumor Of Blu-ray Drives For Apple

Word on the street has it that Blu-ray Disc could be making their way to the Apple MacBook Pro family, Cupertino currently talking with Sony about the inclusion of these units for future models. Well, if that happens, just make sure you work near an outlet at all times, as the Blu-ray units are notorious power guzzlers (judging from the models of first-generation laptops), so you might even not arrive halfway through the film before they were left without juice.

Carbon Fiber Macbook Air, A World of No [Apple]

While generally like to see new gadgets receive alloy skins, this mod carbon fibre added to the back of a Macbook Air is sensitive-put-fugly. The choice is carbon fibre which is lighter than aluminum, although installed in thickness, is a bit too flimsier. But perhaps this is just gruón. Does anyone really think this is okay? [DO].

iPod Nano Getting Purple Paint Job? [Apple]

This image of a Circuit City ad seems to show iPod nano dressed in another disgusting-this time from deep purple. The announcement was spotted in a circular today, but we have not seen with our own eyes. Has anyone seen a picture of the photo in question? And do we really need purple to add to the list of nauseating colors iPod nano and comes in? Ending sentences in matters aside, we have seen the iPod shuffle win a similar treatment purple, what he does.

Time Capsule Gets Obligatory Strip Down [Apple]

Well, that was not in the long run; aptly named Flickr user, has taken the nakedmac white plastic of the goodness of their time outside the capsule, so that we can all take a look under his pants. The things that we have learned, 1). There is a fan of the Time Capsule to get fresh. 2). Nakedmac was one of those guys who destroyed their toys two minutes after arriving. Nakedmac, this is exactly why you are not allowed beautiful things.

Apple Falls 601 Movies Short of February Promise [Hoodwinked]

Macworld did some follow-up to the promise made by Apple in a press release from January opening. In it, the company claimed: iTunes Movie Rentals launches today, and will feature more than 1000 titles at the end of February, which includes more than 100 titles in the amazing high-definition video with 5. 1 Dolby Digital surround sound, which users can rent directly from your widescreen TV using Apple TV.

1 Surround). And when all the films can be seen from iTunes including rentals and purchases Macworld found that Apple is still far from any objective of the 1000 film, which offers only 770 films total. Hopefully, Apple will meet its goal of 1,000 rental in March. Because while AppleTV recent makeup was impressive, we would like to be able to, you know, watch some movies on it or something.
