A Phone so Soft and Squeezable, You Will Want to Replace Your Charmin With It [Concept]
|
"Softphone" concept phone designer Quian Jiang uses a series of discs with electronically wired cotton fabric stretched in the middle. The benefit to a phone like this would be that the keyboard can be folded away to save space while the bulk of the electronics are located within a small clip made of silica, which is smooth. Another potential benefit is that the phone can be squeezed to engage in actions such as ending a call. And because the phone is so squeezably soft, you can rely on the knowledge that if caught in a code red situation without toilet paper in sight, you always have a backup option. As mentioned, the Softphone is a concept device at the time, and while a flexible phone is a viable idea, my guess is that this version will not be in stores anytime soon. |
