Canon HV20
First I have to go through a bit of background before starting this review! Upgrading to a video camera high definition has been an interesting process. It seems that while Sony and Panasonic, have been working on their codec compression AVCHD not have an intense focus on amateur video editor. This compression is, by all reports, very difficult editing programs like Adobe Premiere Pro or elements and difficult to edit in other programs. This compression is, by all reports, very difficult editing programs like Adobe Premiere Pro or elements and difficult to edit in other programs. It seems that is not really designed for editing and AVCHD is rather an appropriate format for the moment, filming and recording on DVD crowd. As apparently the only HD compression format that is readily available for use with flash memory or other tape formats are not left me looking for a camera that is able to use DV tapes. |

Canon HV20 HDV Camcorders For YouTubersCanon HV20 HDV Camcorders For YouTubers If you Google “CanonHV20″ you’ll see we pretty-well own the first two pages - even bumping www.canonhv20.com off the top spot. So that’s part of the strategy - we’re hoping Canon will notice these videos and come to the party. If you want to score a new Canon HV20 HDV camcorder - start uploading some funny and/or creative footage as a video response. ‘Cause if (or when) this thing works we’re going to need a bunch of people to make this series. Are we out of our collective minds? Quite possibly…but if you don’t try… We actually do have the concept nutted out and we’ve written the scripts for the first series. Now all we need is a few more High Definition Cameras (this is where you come in Mister CANON). This footage was shot on CanonHV20, edited on iMovie on the Mac. Speeded up (obviously) and compressed on Quicktime’s brilliant H264 (which YouTube are using for the iPhone). 2:20 minutes compressed down to 57.3MB from the original 8.77Gb. Using multi-pass “Best”, 30 fps and a custom size of 480×270 (16:9 aspect ratio). à bientôt, Malkie, Paris (aka “Wallyworld” at YouTube)

Canon HV20 HD Camcorder - PMA 2007 InterviewCanon HV20 HD Camcorder - PMA 2007 Interview Canon improves upon the standard CCD camcorders by using a 1/2.7″ CMOS sensor to generate images. The 2.96MP CMOS sensor tends to process faster than a CCD for richer color and sharper detail. When you add a Canon Optics HD lens, 10x optical zoom and a DV II processor you get ultra-sharp color and incredible detail even from a distance. In order to ensure you get the highest possible video quality and picture Canon added an HDMI output and hot shoe terminal to the HV20. As impressive as the HV20 is as a camcorder, it gets even better as a 3.1 megapixel digital still camera. Store images on tiny HC Mini-SD memory cards with the Mini-SD card slot. The optical image stabilizer and advanced AF auto focus make it easy to get crisp clean video and photos. Choosing and using the enhanced features such as Smooth Zoom Zebra Pattern and Level Shot Control, are easy thanks to the 2.7″ LCD screen. Canon fit everything you can ask from a camcorder in the HV20, all in a body that fits comfortably in your pocket. Now if they could only develop a “remove 10 pounds feature”… |
