Sony Ericsson Self-Adjusting Pico-Projector

While cell phone projectors have yet to make a splash in the mass consumer market, Sony Ericsson is already dreaming of creating a self-adjusting pico-projector. This patent application claims that the projected image from a cell phone’s pico-projector will be analyzed by the handset’s camera first, using image-analysis to adjust the color, brightness and focus of the image before beaming it out to obtain the most optimal image at all times.

I wonder how batteries in cell phones will deal with such high-powered device integration in the future. Will we see the death of super slim handsets and the return of bulky devices? As it is, today’s multi-functional smartphones are already growing larger and larger in size due to their increased need for additional power. Permalink | Comment | Uberbargain | Uberphones.
