Hello, I’m Rebecca Field with a UPI entertainment update on this Friday, August 24, 2007.

Nicole Richie is now out of jail after serving less than 2 hours there. The Sheriff’s department says she checked in yesterday to serve her 4 day sentence, but was released due to overcrowding. Richie, who’s also about 4 months pregnant, was apparently treated the same as any other inmate in her situation. She pleaded guilty last month to a DUI charge stemming from an incident last December. She also agreed to spend 3 years on probation, pay a fine and take an alcohol education course.

Actress Lindsay Lohan is also preparing to serve a short jail sentence. She reached a plea deal yesterday for DUI and drug charges, requiring her to spend one day in jail, 10 days of community service, and a drug treatment program. Lohan escaped felony charges but was charged with 7 misdemeanors including driving under the influence of both cocaine and alcohol and reckless driving. In a statement to MTV, the star admits she’s addicted to alcohol and drugs, causing her to do things she’s ashamed of.

Pop star Jennifer Lopez is searching for some new moves for her upcoming music video. She held a casting call in New York yesterday, looking for the next dancer for her upcoming video. It was the first of six auditions to be held around the U.S.. The singer partnered up with the deodorant retailer Secret for the contest that’s called “Secret’s Show Us Your Moves.”

Singer Justin Timberlake is expanding his movie career. He’s teaming up with funnyman Mike Myers for a new comedy called “The Love Guru.” Jessica Alba and Verne Troyer will also star in the film, which begins production next month. The movie is about an American boy raised in an Indian Ashram returning to the U.S. Timberlake and Myers have partnered up on the big screen before…for the animated hit “Shrek the Third.”

Tennis star Venus Williams is taking a shot at fashion. She launched her new fashion line EleVen in New York yesterday. The collection will reportedly be sold at the retailer Steve and Barry’s. The line features active wear as well as footwear and accessories. Williams reportedly says the name EleVen comes from the address of the first house she and her family lived in while in California.

Chapter 23 [Episode 23] {Season 1 Finale} Part 1:
In the morning, Nick called Amanda to tell her about the party but she wasn’t there so he talked to Ellie.
Nick: Hey Ellie is Amanda there?
Ellie: Do you know what time it is!?… It’s 7 o’clock in the morning!
Nick: Umm sorry I thought you were awake. Is Amanda there?
Ellie: No, I think she was out partying last night.
Nick: What?!…Ellie! I was with her the majority of the afternoon yesterday. It’s highly doubtful that she went to a party after.
Ellie: OK then bye.
Nick: ELLIE! Can I talk to you?
Ellie: You have ten minutes to talk.
Nick: There’s a New Year’s Eve party at my house at 9 o’clock can you tell Amanda too?
Ellie: Yeah sure bye *hangs up*.
Nick: And can you tell Amanda to call me later? *Silence* Ellie! Great you hung up…
The night of the New Year’s Party, at 8:30, Amanda and Ellie are at home…
Amanda: *on the phone* You’re going tonight, aren’t you Sara?…OK, well I don’t think I’m going. Have fun. Bye! *hangs up*
Ellie: *walks into room* Time to get ready.
Amanda: Oh shoot, I didn’t have enough time to get a dress. Guess I can’t go.
Ellie: Aw you only HAD 4 days to get a dress, but…good thing I got mine along with yours! *pulls a knee-high blue dress from behind*

Amanda: Pretty, but I don’t think it’ll fit.
Ellie: Don’t worry. I know your size. *throws dress on bed* Get dressed.
Amanda: I really don’t know Ellie. I mean, look at the back of the dress, it’s…missing…a chunk.
Ellie: Well that’s the way La Femme wanted the dress to look like.
Amanda: Fine then. *grabs dress and walks into bathroom*
At 9:15 they are still at home…getting ready.
Ellie: You’ve been in the bathroom for like an hour now!
Amanda: *Comes out of the bathroom* It looks…really I don’t know, not me.
Ellie: You look stunning now spin.
Amanda spins around while rolling her eyes. When she is spinning, Ellie notices something black on Amanda’s back.
Ellie: Whoa, wild child, you got a tattoo.
Amanda: It was on a whim and I need you to help me cover it up.
Ellie: With what? Band-Aids?
Amanda: No! Make-up or something. I don’t know.
Ellie: Give me your foundation.
Amanda: Why can’t we use yours?
Ellie: Because my skin tone is different from yours.
Amanda: Fine.
It took over ten minutes to cover up the tattoo. And it is now 9:30.
Ellie: OK its covered.
Amanda: OK, umm are we leaving now?
Ellie: No I still have to do my hair.
Amanda: OK take your time to tame your curls.
Ten minutes later, Ellie walks out of the bathroom.
Ellie: OK. They’ve been tamed.
Amanda: *blink* Looks the same to me.
Ellie: Oh yeah I know I tamed my hair before I helped you with your tattoo.
Amanda: Then what were you doing in there for ten minutes.
Ellie: Stalling.
Amanda: Nice…so I guess we can go now?
Ellie: Yeah, since we have to.
They arrive at the Jonas house 25 minutes later (It only takes 10 minutes to get there). They then get out and walk to the door, standing there for another 5 minutes before ringing the doorbell.
Amanda: Nice driving.
Ellie: I was afraid of drunk drivers
Amanda: The roads were clear for at least a mile radius.
Ellie: Well then I was nervous about the snow.
Amanda: Yeah, funny. I thought I saw the same old man with the walker pass us twice on the way here.
Ellie: Probably. Ring the doorbell.
Amanda: No, you.
Ellie: No.
Amanda: Fine then. *rings doorbell*
Joe answers the door.
Joe: You’re at least an hour late. Everyone’s here already.
Ellie: Yeah but we’re fashionably late.
Amanda: Yeah, what she said.
