ExpressCard To Hit 2.0
The ExpressCard standard has increased and we will soon see the version 2. 0 in the market. What are some of the improvements you can expect from ExpressCard 2. 0? To begin with, the speed of PCI Express has doubled, resulting in a 2X bandwidth to enhance performance of the modules 2. 5 Gbps to 5 Gbps (in theory, at least). ExpressCard 2. 0 will be the same and share the same size as the version 1. 5 Gbps to 5 Gbps (in theory, at least). ExpressCard 2. 0 will be the same and share the same size as the version 1. 0, and is completely backward compatible. In fact, if you are dealing with a lot of bandwidth each day, ExpressCard 2. 0 is the way to go - or at least that's what you want to believe. Laptops should be carrying ExpressCard 2. 0 slots from 2010, making it much more time to go. |
