Earthquake Simulator

Now, this simulator is one that I do not mind sitting - an earthquake simulator that has been built right into a truck. Because Japan is an access point for earthquakes, this luxury truck has been going on throughout the country of the sun, giving people the opportunity to experience how it feels like an earthquake less likely to be buried under tons of concrete.

As you can see from the small display on the left side of the frame, the intensity of the earthquake was 7.0 and the type of it, a mixture of an horizontal and vertical movement (less than 20% of these type happens in real life.) If you live in or around Tokyo is worth a visit! Very friendly staff and it’s free!

model base isolation system built by “six degrees of freedom”, formerly known as “team” for their cluster four final project at UCSD COSMOS 2007. the test is on a shake table [one degree of freedom]. the frequencies and amplitudes of the northridge earthquake are supposedly simulated here….

here, the frequency of the structure in the middle is lowered. [compare to structure on the right]
