The latter says that Apple is actively lobbying for Sony slot-loading BD-R units of quality control, but questions are gumming up the plan.

This seems a bit strange, frankly - now that the format is more than war and the competence of shipping and mid-range laptops with slot-loading BD-R drives, you would think that Apple wants cash Blu - ray Disc Association member with the card that can provide units.
